I was considering starting a new series of posts where I upload the positive self talk “letters to myself” I write. They are essentially an evaluation, motivational speech and mission statement for myself. I think about how I’ve been doing, what is stopping me from succeeding or helping me succeed and how to optimize myself and where I want to go moving forward.
I think I have turned a few into poems on here before but it wouldn’t be blatantly obvious.
Anyways I really truly recommend you guys try it. It is really helpful and makes you feel more connected to your core values. It helps you to reflect and evaluate so you’re not just going through your day based on routines and habits.
If you’re an artistic type like me, and chances are if you’re following me you almost certainly are, you most likely are somewhat whimsical and doing the “same” thing every day is dreadfully boring so you most likely don’t go through the motions without thought… but we all still form habits as far as I can see. Like me I favor sentences without breaks often referred to as “run-on” because they feel more flowing to me. I think we form some habits out of necessity of ease and others because we actually like what we’re doing. There are some things we don’t get tired of and I have a lot of gratitude for those things. So anyways, if you want to start a habit, this is a really good one.
Thanks for reading my rambles!
It seems a lot of writers and speakers are afraid of “rambling” as if one must adhere strictly to one subject. I’m not saying going off topic doesn’t exist within a given direct subject yet so many things are related and so many truly awesome conversations happen because they were not afraid to go off script and explore.
